Greetings Rams Fans. Well the Rams would be at home today to take on the San Francisco 49ers trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. Having felt like the Maytag repairman again last week, it was nice that Bloomer Bret’s sister and bother-in-law and Keet showed up.
The beer was cold, the food was good and the game was exciting. Being the day after Christmas the gang actually did a Christmas shot to boot. A good time was had by all.
RAMS VS. 49ERS
Folks after the way the Rams played last week against the Chiefs, nobody was sure what was going to happen today. That said the Rams Fans in the dome were pumped and were rockin’. They were fired up if nothing else and we think that might have helped to fire up the players some too.
The Rams as they have done so often this year jumped on top first. The 9ers would win the snap and the now unemployed Singletary would elect to defer. With the help of a pass interference call, the Rams would wind up with the ball on the 9ers 1 yard line after moving the ball consistently down the field and Jackson would take it in. Befor long the Rams would be up 12-0 and looking good.
The defense wasn’t giving up anything and the 9ers couldn’t even get a 1st down and then just like that, one big punt return and the 9ers picked up 7. But the defense persevered while the Rams offense sputtered as it has done so much through out the year. First quarter attack and get the lead, once gotten now be conservative. Spagnuolo has got to learn in the NFL when you get somebody down, pummel them so they can’t get back up. Not long after the punt return and having gained a mere three first downs, the Rams gave up a 60 yard pass play for a TD and would trail at half time 14-12.
In the third quarter the momentum seemed to be continuing with the 9ers. But their kicker would miss a field goal and Atogwe would later pick off a pass and the Rams would get a field goal and lead 15-14. The Rams would get a TD early in the fourth and take the lead 22-14. The 9ers would keep fighting though and would eventually get a field goal making the score 22-17.
With just under four minutes to play, Amendola would return a kickoff 84 yards. The Rams would fail to take it in on three straight running plays and would settle for a field goal, 25-17. Time would eventually expire as the 9ers tried to make their way down field and that would be that. RAMS WIN!
So now the Rams go into Seattle for a game that’s been moved to Sunday night, prime time. Winner takes the NFC West. The Rams have proved they can win on the road but this will be their biggest road game yet. There is no next week, next time or anything else, just next year for the loser.
That’s it for this week folks. Have a good week Rams Fans. Don’t take any wooden nickels, keep the shiny side up and as always, watch your top knot.
